Training and Courses
We believe life-long learning is a fundamental human right and is a top priority for the Ballarat Neighbourhood Centre team. Our courses are designed to help you learn new skills and build on these skills in a practical and fun way. To ensure we do this, we keep our classes small (8-10 participants), embed practical hands on learning into them all, and have experienced tutors from education and industry deliver them.
With over 60 different courses, check them out and talk to us if you don’t see the course you need..

Discover Community
If you're looking for something fun to do with your friends, or wanting to meet new people, then join one of our friendly social events. We encourage everyone to find out more about our programs and activities by dropping in for a visit, contacting the team or chatting to one of our volunteers.
You can come for a free coffee and some conversation at one of our Chatty Cafés, join the walking group, volunteer to help or book a seat at one of our award winning weekly Community Lunches. There’s a place for everyone at Ballarat Neighbourhood Centre.

Looking for a Job
We know finding a job is hard, especially if you’ve been unemployed for over six months or face significant challenges in your daily life.
The Ballarat Jobs Victoria Work & Learning Centre team offer a free employment service to Workforce Australia clients to help you retrain, build your skills, apply for jobs, prepare for interviews and connect you to employers.
People with Disabilities
Ballarat Neighbourhood Centre is not a registered NDIS provider, however as a state funded organisation we are considered to be a Mainstream Community Support Organisation.
We welcome people with disabilities to attend and volunteer in our regular community programs (walking group, garden group, chatty cafe's etc). If you are interested in participating in our Adult Education courses or are looking for a longer more supported program then talk to our Disability Intake Coordinator.

Seniors and Carers
Neighbourhood houses are great places to meet people, enjoy social activities and find help. Ballarat Neighbourhood Centre is a Carer Friendly House and we work with other Dementia Alliance members to ensure we have activities for our older community members. From weekly community meals and the Chatty Cafe to our garden groups and volunteer opportunities, we can help you become less isolated and more connected with our community.
