OKSE supports long-term unemployed clients to build employability skills and helps them find employment. Each year 30 to 40 participants spend 8 weeks working in a commercial kitchen, not only learning a range of hospitality skills, but also preparing and serving low cost community lunches.
This highly successful program is well regarded by community members, employment service providers, businesses and departmental staff for its high employment and social impact outcomes.
We would like to thank the 800+ generous, community minded, cafes and coffee roasters, and their customers, who donated during CafeSmart Week in August 2024. We would also like to thank the event sponsors Vitasoy, La Marzocco, Coffee Tools Distributing, and Prana Chai.
