Justice of the Peace
We support our local Justice of the Peace volunteers.
A Justice of the Peace (JP) is trained to act as independent and objective witness to documents used for official or legal purposes and can assist you by:
- Witnessing a statutory declaration.
- Certifying a True Copy of an original document.
- Attesting the execution of a document.
- Witnessing an Affidavit for use in court.
- Witnessing a Power of Attorney.
- Witnessing a Medical Treatment
- Decision Maker and many other types of documents, including AHPRA documents.
Ballarat Neighbourhood Centre is pleased to support our local JP volunteers by offering our facilities as Document Signing Stations and places for community members to meet JP’s for private appointments.
Just drop in as NO appointments are necessary, but make sure you bring along an updated statutory declaration form.
Photocopying is available at the Centres for a small fee.
Note: Please be advised due to Queensland laws in relation to bank finance, land or house purchasing or selling documents etc, consult your solicitor to witness signing those documents.
